Every year my New's Resolution is to say No.Β  This is the first year I actually followed through, though not nearly as often as I should have. . I love baking at Christmas! I make over 1000 cookies every year as well as multiple pies and cakes.Β  By the time I'm done baking it all, I rarely eat any of it. . Arm balances - you either love them or hate them πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ But why should you bother practicing these challenging poses? β€’ Magic begins outside of your comfort zone, and Arm balances definitely take you outside of your comfort zone!Not only do they challenge your strength & flexibility, they also encourage you to face your fears head on, take risks & trust - regardless of the outcome - that everything is going to be okay. Haven’t been practicing my arm balances as much as I should because I’ve been eating a lot of holiday meals. 🍠🌽πŸ₯—πŸ˜ But finally getting back to my inversions and balances. One of the things I’ve had to let go of in yoga, is the idea of perfection. I used to be very rigid in my practice, forcing myself into poses constantly hoping to gain flexibility faster or get to that crazy inversion I wanted. But my mind was fed up with that after awhile. Now I try to strive for progress and self love in my practice, knowing that sometimes my practice will be gentle, sometimes it will be slow, and sometimes it will involve a lot of stillness on some days. I still love all those funky poses just as much, but my goal in yoga is never about nailing the pose perfectly. It’s more about finding the space in my body and mind to feel a sense of balance and calm in my life. I hope all you beautiful people have a lovely weekend! 😘
