Do you brine ? 💦 Brines are terrific for keeping meat moist. Brines with lots of herbs and additions also help the overall flavor. I want you to have not just a moist bird but a flavorful moist bird. With turkey 🦃 day right around the corner it’s a great idea to start thinking of brines for your bird. Lots of options. My garlic & rosemary 🌿citrus 🍊 brine is easy & delicious. Just remember to plan on brining your turkey for one hour per pound refrigerated below 40F keep it food safe always. 2 cup @mortonsalt kosher salt 1/2 cup light brown sugar Zest of 3 oranges 🍊 4 sprigs of rosemary 1 large bulb garlic halved 3 tbsp black peppercorns 3 tbsp dried chives 2 tsp dried thyme 1 gallon low sodium turkey or chicken stock 1 gallon low sodium vegetable stock In a large stock pot bring all of the ingredients to a boil dissolving all of the sugars and salts. Simmer for 20 minutes then chill completely. Submerge your turkey 🦃 in the chilled brine for 1 hr per pound. When done brining pat dry the outer surface of the turkey and discard the brine. Make a flavorful herb butter for under the skin. Also if you want super crispy skin air dry your turkey overnight on a baking rack uncovered overnight in the fridge. Then Grill smoke or roast your turkey! . . . . . . . . . . #bbqfun
