Name- Man Vs Wife Author- Ashish Srivastava Genre- Fiction Pages- 128 Man vs Wife is a short novel by author Ashish Srivastava. It explores the troubles faced by men in the Indian society. Viral Singh is a young IT professional. Enthusiastic and impulsive, he is married to his childhood friend, Trisha. Everything about them seems ideal, except that Viral is tired of being a doting husband and the best father. The only way he can see, to escape the troubles of his distanced wife is divorce. The story opens with him in a court area, looking for a good divorce lawyer. The book revolves around Viral when he realises that he needs to have a consensual divorce else the laws will favour his wife. He is advised by his lawyer, Anwar, to break the seven vows of marriage one by one so that his wife agrees for the split. The author has done a commendable job in bringing out the Indian court room, its systems and the conditions of the lawyers in the country. Ashish's extensive research about divorce laws shows in the book. The character building for Viral and Anwar is done nicely, though I would have loved some focus on Trisha as well. The story covers the man's perspective of the entire situation so it is really important for the female readers to take it sportingly. But I would have loved to know the reasons for Trisha's behaviour and decisions also. The writing is simple and the flow is well-maintained. The sarcastic and witty dialogues given to Viral and Anwar are a cherry on the cake. The story follows two timelines- the present and the time and Viral and Trisha met. It is important to carefully follow them for better understanding. The main plot at times got sidelined by the sub-plots and it took me a few pages to get into the flow properly. I love the title of the book and it will surely catch the attention of the readers. Overall, the book was a fun read for me. I recommend it to those looking for a short, light and unique read. Thank you @ashish07_knit for this wonderful book. QOTD- Suggest some other books revolving around marriages.

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas 5/5 Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas 5/5 This book provides such a full and detailed back story for all that has happened while providing glimpses from different points of view. This perspective gives the whole story of Throne of Glass a much richer and layered texture. But it was Yrene who captured me. She was a minor character several books back who was given new β€œlife”. How can authors think that far ahead to turn a seemingly minor incident into a major event? Yrene has found her path...those chapters were incredible. Ahhh, Nesryn. A soldier and Captain of the Royal Guard. She had worked hard but there were forces working against her for being a woman in a man’s world. I found myself talking and listening to her as if we were best friends and I guess, maybe we were. Her journey of self discovery was tumultuous, excitedly nail biting and heroic beyond the wildest dreams of both of us. Tagging along with both Yrene and Nesryn through the pages of this book was both turbulent and exuberant at the same time. Out of all the books, Tower of Dawn is my favorite. The secondary characters were fleshed out and allowed to grow to actually become the meat of the story. BUT, Aelin, will always be the spine of the story. #beautifulbooks
