Today marks the day where I am launching my brownies for the first time at @lborouniversity's Enterprise Network opening of the Start Up Lab space for student businesses. . @nicholas.design @nicholasjohnsondesign has been an absolute superstar, helping turn my visions for the brand into a reality. . My housemates, friends and flatmates this year and last have been patient both as friends and taste testers, trying some pretty grim iterations of my initial recipe up to my final release and the product it is today. Not to mention keeping me sane. . My family have kept me alive by sending me food shop money every month (30~ iterations of a protein brownie recipe, plus research and development for the wider business and it's packaging, has cost me hundreds of pounds) . I literally have £0.01 right now. I've put in so much work into this. There's been a lot of tears, a lot of doubt and a lot energy invested in making this real . It's a dream I've had for years to run my own food business. I'm almost ready to start trading . It's sometimes felt like a full time job in itself. But I've been doing this alongside university; being a chair of a society, a friend, a partygoer, a gym lad, a food blogger, a sports science student. I've done it alongside part time work as a cleaner, running Escape Rooms, and now as a personal trainer. . I've put a lot on the line - hopefully today goes well. ❤️

I used to be a champion at suppressing my feelings. Outwardly, I felt I had it all together and was a master at presenting an outer front of contentment and ease as I approached life challenges. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ I was the happy go lucky; so easy to get along with; placating Pollyanna who just got on with life and never felt angry, sad or let down. Now don’t get me wrong, I have been blessed with a pretty glass half full approach to life, but I was absolutely not this person wholeheartedly. I was in denial to a whole part of my authentic self! ⚡️⚡️ The problem) with NOT acknowledging your true feelings is that they don’t just go away. They build up under the carpet to produce a pretty big pile of unacknowledged fury or upset. One day you might find yourself suddenly feeling overwhelmed with sadness, anger or anxiety in relation to something you might consider to be quite a small trigger, but the floodgates open and stored emotions flow from months of stifling them away. ⚡️⚡️ 5 WAYS TO TAP INTO FEELINGS AND BECOME CLOSER TO THE REAL YOU 1️⃣ Start a journal. This can be a place just for you to write down everything and anything in an uncensored way. As you do this, you will start to gain clarity and understanding of your inner world. 2️⃣ Open up to someone who you can trust to listen and accept your feelings without judgement. Sometimes our closest friends and family members are not able to do this. With good intentions, they have an agenda for us and might want to direct or persuade us in a certain way. Choose the trusted person carefully. 3️⃣ Sometimes you might find it much easier to describe feelings through pictures or language than actually using ‘feeling words’. 4️⃣ Notice how you feel in your body. When you really mean YES, then you might feel more energised; more excited; more alert. When you say YES but you mean NO your body might feel heavy and a sense of dread may loom in your stomach. This is different for everybody and you will need to become accustomed to your inner cues. 5️⃣Take time to pay attention to your inner world. If you are busy, busy, busy, then feelings don’t really get a look in. You may well be missing out on valuable intuition!

When you ask is weight loss possible? Well what is the ideal situation that you would like to be true? If the ideal situation is health and being at your ideal weight then focus upon that, put all your energy into that being possible. I consciously make an effort to choose to believe anything is possible and focus upon that being true. Ask yourself is there any harm in me believing it's possible? < asking yourself this can help you with your critical voice. There ARE most definitely loads of people that have lost weight and kept it off. There are people with health issues that lose weight and people who overcome health issues. My advice is to set an intention to find evidence of it being true and focus upon that being possible for you as well. The thing that you fear about believing it's possible is putting in effort and feeling like a failure or that the effort is wasted and that you were wrong. It feels more comfortable to believe that weight loss is impossible for us due to some sort of reason because it gives us a way to accept ourself. But like I say, choose to accept yourself without needing a reason that limits you. Weight loss is always possible if you believe it is possible. Choose to believe it's possible and keep on believing it's possible even if there is no evidence. If you believe it is possible and easy then you are more open to perceiving it as easy and possible. Eventually you will find way and make it possible.
