baby it's cold outside... . It's that time of year again, it's getting chilly! . . Yesterday I spotted these in @tescofood (and am pretty sure other supermarkets are selling them too), they're just logs... Wrapped in either netting (plastic) or clear plastic wraps, neither option is plastic free and both carry a transportation carbon footprint. Also yesterday, Mr P-R and I went to and saw a sign also advertising logs, these are generated from the pine woods, so zero transportation footprint, and I shouldn't think they'd be wrapped in plastic (I'd love to know for sure though). park in @rushcliffe_bc also sell logs, generated from within the park, and I imagine countless other parks and reserves do too... . . Have you spotted plastic free logs available? Let us know below 😘👇 @nationaltrust #carbonfootprint

Reducing our reliance on single-use plastic is one of the most important things we can do to collectively make our world a better place. Plastic is everywhere, and although I’ve seen great efforts towards more sustainable practices in the United States, that can not be said for many other places in the world. In Thailand, I can’t go to the grocery store without having to unravel each and every item I buy from its polyvinyl shell. It’s time we all did a little bit more to reduce our plastic footprint.. Some tips for moving towards in reducing your plastic footprint: 1. Buy reusable shopping bags made from recycled materials so that you can stop collecting those crumpled up old white ones under your sink. 2. Say no to plastic straws and cutlery when you order take-out. 3. Pay attention to the packaging. If it’s wrapped in plastic, leave it behind! Fresh produce and farm to table shopping is way better anyways. 4. Reduce use of plastic sandwich bags and juice cartons. Get yourself (or kid) a sweet reusable lunch bag that you/they can rock everyday! 5. If you haven’t already, please go get a reusable coffee cup and water bottle. My favorite’s are @hydroflask and @swellbottle. They have a variety of designs and their products are insulated so they keep liquids hot/cold foreveeeeer. 6. RECYCLE! And if you see trash on the ground, pick it up. Imagine if everyone in the world shared the mentality of “leave a place better than when you came to it.” When I was in elementary school, before every break, our teachers would say, “everyone pick up 10 pieces of trash.” As a group we cleaned up waaaaay faster than if just one of us were doing it. It’s possible that we can clean up our planet, but we can only do it together! #carbonfootprint

• More green trees, less greenhouse gases! • Creating carbon dioxide emissions is unfortunately an inevitable part of human life at this point in time. However, as we have been focusing on this month, there is a multitude of ways to reduce your emissions. But sometimes there are things you just can't avoid, like pollution created by flying in planes. Luckily there are ways to invest your time and/ or money into programs that's are taking climate-positive actions in order to counterbalance your carbon footprint. Nowadays many airlines will actually tell you the carbon emissions produced by your flight, and there's even several tools on the internet for calculating your yearly carbon footprint if you google it. If you decide to go the route of contributing the monetary equivalent needed to offset your emissions, make sure to choose a carbon offset organization that chooses its project partners carefully and can give you explicit details of who will be using your money and how, to make sure your donation is actually being put to good use. cooleffect.org is a great place to start, and if you know of any other good orgs please comment them below! ☀️ Planting trees is easily one of the most effective ways to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, but if you're going to go that route I'd recommend finding a local program you can physically volunteer for to plant instead of sending money to a organization that *might* plant a tree somewhere. 🌱 making a difference in your local community is the most surefire way to ensure you're making the impact you desire. @zerowastedork has a great post about ways to offset your carbon at a local level, such as volunteering at community gardens or helping to grow local compost initiatives. Even if we all pledged to support one carbon offset initiative a year, it would really help to counterbalance the human impact on the globe. With the holidays coming up, now is the perfect time to give some love to our beautiful mama earth❤🌎❤ #carbonfootprint

Vegan zero-waste lunch for a school day. Pesto pasta with tempeh, kale, and spinach, and a cup of coffee. I’m only vegan like 80% of the time but reducing your consumption of animal products is one of the biggest ways to reduce your impact on the climate and environment. #carbonfootprint
