Cookies, pizza, ice cream, brownies.. I eat them all & am still losing fat. 👀How? I manage portions & build them into my lifestyle. 👀 Why? So I don’t feel restricted, so I don’t feel the need to binge eat on the weekends or at holiday events, so I keep my mental sanity, and because they taste fucking good! 🍩 ⁣⠀ Balance. Struggling to find it?? You’re not alone. Balance is something we all strive for but it is hard to find a middle ground, whether it be with diet, exercise, work or relationships. But today, I want to talk about a balanced diet! ⁣⠀ If you’ve ever been told that certain foods are good or bad, unhealthy or healthy, I want you to stop for a second & reassess. ⁣⠀ Instead of seeing food in black and white terms, I encourage you to see food on sliding scale from more nutritious (+ maybe less palatable) to more delicious (+ maybe more palatable). ⁣⠀ No food is inherently bad. Any food can be consumed in moderation as part of a healthy fat loss diet. Portions need to be controlled when consuming more palatable/fun foods, bc it’s easier to overdo the portions, but they do have a place in a healthy balanced diet. ⁣⠀ If your diet is primarily (80-85%) whole foods, you can include foods that you really love, that might not be as nutritious, but provide you with happiness, mental sanity & allow you to enjoy social settings. ⁣⠀ Then, when Thanksgiving or Christmas or the next work party pops up on the calendar, you won’t feel deprived or the need to eat like it’s your last meal. ⁣⠀ Of course, eat in a way that makes you feel good. But eating clean 100% is not realistic & not really attainable. Eventually you’ll crash and burn. ⁣⠀ So be consistent, eat for health 80-85% of the time & then go enjoy your damn life the other 15-20%. BALANCE! ⁣⠀ Thank you to @whenharrymetsalad for this graphic!
