..because you should 100% eatlikemonica. “ERRONEOUS!!!” -- to quote Wedding Crashers. Yes, it’s my handle, and the handle basis of our RD butterfly hive (@eatlikeeliane, @eatlikemichele, @eatlikemichelle), but what’s implied in the name is for you to be a butterfly and deftly bounce from flower to flower, er, salad to salad, and glean the most meaningful food concepts you learn here on the ‘gram from us and apply them to your own ESSENCE. We try to keep it light, sometimes punctuated by my about alien foods, diet culture, and a victimization Eeyore attitude towards food, but this arena is for amusement and enlightenment, not ‘eat this not that because I eat it, and so should you, IT IS WRITTEN ::Biblical thunder bolt:: So yeah, I’ll crow about my in all their realistic, authentic, ugly, “anti-Instagram aesthetic” glory because I want to empower YOU to not feel so pressured to eat “normal” foods or catalogue everything you eat and broadcast it to a random cyber gaggle. EveryBODY’s roster of daily foods / patterns over time is and SHOULD be unique -- aka their ESSENCE -- and that is to be honored and savored. All attempts will be made to introduce you to the bizarre glories of kefir, sauerkraut, chomping on a cucumber in your car, tahini, and blending matcha into your pancakes, but at the end of the day -- the decision about your food and health and your right to pursue it in a way that is significant to you - is unwaveringly yours and yours alone. So please enjoy my eccentric food choices and creations here, but by no means feel compelled to replicate. This isn’t a homogenous food society - is heterogeneous AF and so too should be your spread of food. (But I’m indelibly flattered when you all DM me that you’ve been indoctrinated with adoration / are noticing diet culture cues sprinkled all over society. You’re my beautiful butterfly army - let’s keep leading the world to a concept wherein you SHOULD #eatlikemonica - the way I have found joy, peace, and appreciation for (most) all foods (I really. truly. do not like coffee. Love the smell, tho. And if you want to send me any coffee scrubs for my skin, so be it.)

SUNNNN!! ☀️ (and somehow after retiring from ballet 15 years ago, I can still hold a split?) * It's common to feel a bit bluer in the winter months with less sunshine (sorry to gloat about Miami 🙇🏻‍♀️) and therefore less Vitamin D synthesis. 🥴🌞 * If mood rings were still in (I do miss SOME things about the '90s, but those butterfly clips were heinous, and y'all know we love butterflies), ours would be as black as cacao avocado mousse from the lack of sun. BUT WAIT. * Regular mindful movement can brighten our moods -- and our biomes. 🌞🏃🏻‍♀️ * Studies have shown that aerobic exercise (anything that gets your heart rate up - for me that's often... shopping.. or a particularly thrilling Whole Foods experience..) can be particularly beneficial, especially if done outdoors, so shake a tail feather and move mindfully to combat any seasonal sadness / fluff up that microbiome of yours. 🌞🏃🏻‍♀️And while evening exercise can be a great way to relieve your stress from the day -- it may disrupt sleep for some folks, so try to squeeze it in during daytime hours. While we'd love to shout from the rooftops about the thousands of clients we've collectively inspired over the years - HIPPAA largely prevents us from doing so.
