Last week I asked you in a story if you would like me to tell you about why I chose a specific type of product and why the brand. Most of you voted yes, so let’s start this week with the first one! 😁 As I told before, Victoria is a very sensitive horse. I’ve tried a lot of different bridles and bit combinations before I found the right one. She really like steadiness and can react sensitive to pressure. I’ve tried riding her bitless, but she totally hated that. After trying different ‘normal’ English bridles I bought the Rambo Micklem Multi bridle. I immediately noticed a big difference in our riding. She was a lot less stressed, which made her pick up new things quicker. This bridle has the bit connect with the nose band instead of with the headpiece. Which makes it a lot more steady in the mouth. And a little bit anatomically shaped headpiece. What I also loved about the Micklem Multi Bridle is the ring on the nose band, which I used a lot while lunging. But because of this ring I couldn’t compete with this bridle. In the Netherlands they don’t allow any metal in the nose bands. So I had to go and look for an other bridle. In the photo Victoria is wears the Equitus Alpha of Schockemöhle. It was like love at first sight. The leather quality is amazing. In the Netherlands we call it ‘soft like butter’. It’s not only more beautiful than the Micklem, but it also has a lot more anatomically features. The headpiece is shaped around the ears, so it doesn’t put pressure on them. The cheekpieces are further down the jaw than a normal English bridle, so they don’t put pressure on the nerves on the cheek bone. The bit is also connected to the nose band. And I love how the flash strap is more put to the side. I have this bridle for about 4,5 months now, and I can truly say it has made us grow so much in our riding. She’s not so stressed anymore, found our love in dressage back and it doesn’t takes us 20 minutes to relax anymore. If I knew two years ago what I know today, I would have immediately bought the Schockemöhle. It’s worth every penny! I can definitely recommend this bridle to everyone! @schockemoehle_sports
