TOP TIPS FOR PROCRASTINATION 💤 - lets face it, we all get those moments where we just cannot be bothered or find the motivation to get up and be productive - where sitting watching Netflix or on your phone sounds like a much better idea. Here are my top tips on how to combat that feeling of procrastination - 1. Rationalise your tasks into manageable chunks and do not over estimate how tough or how long they will take you - try and split it up into smaller segments - if you are less daunted and stressed to start a task it will be much easier to begin. 2. Focus on why it is you are doing this task - what are the benefits of getting it done now, how much extra time you will have once it is done and the sense of accomplishment you will feel once it is completed. 3. Plan ahead - use a desk calendar or your phone calendar to plan your time and set a timer in which you are going to be focused for that period. 4. Be realistic - start with lower focus times and build it up gradually. One you start being productive it will not seem as impossible and you will get in the flow of your work and your task you are set to complete. 5. Try not to make excuses! The time to start is now. 6. Reward yourself once you have done some work with doing something you enjoy for a while. 7. Have a clear and nice environment to work in, free of distractions. 8. Forgive yourself if you do not get everything you need to done - focus on the future and what you can do in the next day or two to fix it rather than being annoyed at yourself for something you can’t change that is in the past. I hope this helps! Remember, the hardest part about tackling a task is beginning it. Once you have it started you will be more motivated and ready to finish it. And once it is done, you can reward yourself and have a rest! _______________________________________________________ #exams
