Y'all already know I'm a lover of inversions πŸ˜‹ especially pincha / forearm stand. For me it's the perfect representation of the balance yoga requires to be both strong & flexible. β€’ β€’ If you swipe left you can check out a yoga routine I put together for ya that will strengthen & stretch your shoulders. β€’ β€’ While there are a lot of things physically going on in any inversion - having strong & open shoulders is the BEST thing you can do to improve your practice. β€’ β€’ β€’ Some key poses from the flow: - scapula push ups - puppy - down dog - cat/cow - thread the needle

I started lifting weights again and I am SO SORE! Even after stretching, I feel like I need to stretch more. Any chance I get I’m stretching. On the plus side, it’s encouraging a lot more mat time. . . . . . . . . #fitflexyfolk

The man who has confidence in himself gains the confidence of others. -Hasidic Proverb πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’› When you’re feeling a lack of confidence, your solar plexus chakra may be imbalanced. Concentrate on healing by standing up for yourself, taking on new challenges, and taking small steps to achieve your goals. If you’re still feeling a lack of self confidence, fake it till you make it. The best way to gain confidence is by acting like you have it already. Stand straight with your shoulders back, dress how you want to feel, look people in the eye, and speak up. By behaving confident, you’ll start to feel confident. Don’t be afraid to try something new or something that scares you. Step out of your comfort zone, be courageous, and recognize that what you do is amazing, because of the effort that you put in. πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’› I’m feeling in my split progress today. I’m not fully there yet but I’m taking steps towards my goals. Pc: @freckled_yogi β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ #fitflexyfolk

Day 9 is 10th - 19th November . . According to Ayurveda late fall and winter are known as β€œVata season.” They have the same qualities that characterize the Vata dosha: cold, dry, light, clear, and moving. πŸ‚ 🍁. . With the abundance of vata energy circulating during the fall season, our bodies and minds can become overwhelmed and out of balance. During this time of year, you may feel unsettled, ungrounded and unstable. While we cannot change the seasonal weather shifts, we can maintain internal balance by adjusting our lifestyles to counter the predominant vata energy in nature. We do this by incorporating yoga poses, food, and lifestyle choices that naturally hold the opposite qualities of the vata dosha. πŸ‚ 🍁 . . . 🍁 Hosts: 🍁 @supyogawithkarine @bluesuntara @stelasulzdorf @amy.yogini @whitneydavisyoga @twistedgalpal . . 🍁 Sponsors: 🍁 @onzie @omstarsofficial @malaprayer @yogapaws @youphoria . . 🍁 Pose Lineup: 🍁 Revolved asana Malasana / Chair Pigeon pose Half lord of the fishes Forward fold (Standing or sitting) Cobra / Camel Tree Warrior 1, 2 or 3 Standing backbend Shoulder stand / Waterfall pose . #fitflexyfolk

Another day another headstand picture. β˜€οΈ It is with great certainty that I can call this inversion my favourite thing to practice ever. And yes, it always makes for great yoga pictures, but there is so much more behind this pose. Here is my Top 3 of why I think headstands are great to incorporate into your yoga (or any other workout) practice: β˜€οΈ 1. Core Workout: Did you know that practicing headstands is a great training for your abdominal muscles? You need your CORE to balance. 2. Increased Focus: Turning upside down increases the blood flow to your brain and by that ultimately gives your brain a little extra boost. 3. Stress Relief: During a headstand, you have to focus on the headstand and draw your attention towards your body. This helps immensely with drawing your attention away from stress, fear or anxiety. So next time you have a lot to do - start with a headstand. β˜€οΈ #fitflexyfolk
