TWO MONTHS AWAY! We are bringing a girl talk series to the to address real life experiences we are trying to heal from, but we don’t discuss. It’s up to us to break generational cycles so the next generation, will not have to repeat it or recover from it. ✨Click the link in our bio to become a vendor, sponsor, or volunteer.✨ #griefandloss

I’m back home, back to my routine, back to relative “normal”. I thrive on routine, and for the past 3 years a big part of my routine has been fitness and better nutrition. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So much of our lives and our health is totally out of our control. We don’t get to decide if our vision deteriorates due to a genetic condition and we go blind or not. We don’t get to decide if we get cancer or not. We don’t get to decide if we develop Alzheimers, MS, Alopecia, arthritis, a life-threatening allergy, or most other genetic or major illnesses or not. The best we can do is control what we can to give ourselves the best shot at handling whatever is thrown at us. I watched my grandma suffer and die from a rare condition encoded in her DNA that by some miracle wasn’t passed down to my father, or sister and I. It was purely luck. But as I watched her deteriorate I knew I needed to do a better job taking care of myself and honouring the gift I was given. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How are you honouring your ability to get out of bed in the morning and move throughout your day? Do you get enough fresh air? Exercise? Do you eat enough foods that don’t come in boxes and wrapped in greasy paper? It is NEVER too late to start! Go for a walk, choose an apple, and put down the soda and grab some water. And if you need extra support and guidance, I got you. We can work together to get you strong and healthier. Just reach out. 💌 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👎 💣 #griefandloss

Happy 1st birthday baby boy. 💙 I can’t believe we are here. I can’t believe a year has passed. God I miss you. You changed my entire world. You made me a mama. We celebrate your little life today the best way we know how. But we cling to the hope of heaven and trust that the real celebration will happen when we see you again. No more death. No more sorrow. No more and heartache. No more tears. So many things I need to say, but my heart can’t find the words. 💔 I’ll never stop missing you. I’ll never stop saying your name. The sorrow won’t end until we get home to heaven. Always one day closer. Always one day closer. Thank you Jesus that death is not the end. Because I miss my baby. We trust you God. We don’t understand this. But we trust you.

THE STORY OF SCOTT... a sentimental journey Last weekend we finally put this coffee tree named “Scott” in the ground. My brother, who was an avid coffee roaster, making kick coffee he called “morning crack” and giving it away every Xmas, died suddenly about 7 years ago. In his memory we shucked a coffee bean by hand and planted it in a pot and have nursed it for all these years.. Scott the tree has been ravaged by cyclonic winds, been the home for a family of Lewis honeyeaters, provided shade for our cat during the summer heat, and been a constant reminder of the cool and funny person my brother was to me. We have waited and waited to get his feet in the earth and that day has come. There is something magical about planting something new during the grieving process that heals and warms the heart. And time takes care of the rest... . . . . #griefandloss

It has been a hard day. I attended the funeral of a dear friend and I physically and emotionally drained. As I was flipping to Romans- the book I’ve been studying- I found this note I had taken. . . . . Shalom- peace be with you. Peace found in Christ. Peace that passes all understanding. . . . . Death is hard. I don’t understand but it’s not my job to. My job is to lean into the God that gives me peace and trust that he has a plan far greater than my own. . . . . . . . . . andloss
