❄ The unit is ‘huffing’, ‘wheezing’ or rattling. Any unusual noise coming from your air conditioner should always be investigated. These noises tend to get worse if the problem isn’t resolved. A fan, bolt or panel may be loose, or the fan may have become unbalanced due to dust collecting on it. The coil fins may need a clean out, and any other number of issues may have occurred that often a good clean and sanitise will resolve. Get in touch with the HydroKleen team to book your next air conditioner clean!

Had to install a fan cycle switch on a 3 ton Carrier heat pump. Issue is that the metering device in heat mode is at the liquid valve. So when unit runs in heat the liquid pressure tap is apart of the low pressure side causing the fan to never run during heating. So to address this I installed a single pole double throw relay. I tied the coil of the relay into the O signal from thermostat engaging cooling then back to 24V common. This means that in heat the fan cycle switch is bypassed allowing the defrost control board to control fan. When O is energized and the system goes into cooling causing the relay to allow the condenser fan to run through the fan cycle switch. life
