“This is something I know for a fact: You have to work hardest for the things you love most.” ⁣―Carol S. Dweck, psychologist⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I've always been an edit-as-I-go writer, and now that I'm writing the first draft of my book, it's not serving me well. I'm making progress, but I'm easily stymied by words that don't flow. Carol Dweck's work on adopting a growth mindset is helping me see that facing the challenge of writing a whole book and believing it should come easily is setting myself up for discouragement. It's not the only option for the challenge I'm facing, and it's not the only option for you.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The challenge of doing something new or dealing with pain or discouragement for yet another day is something we can greet as either an opportunity to grow or a test of our merit. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Choose to grow. Choose to try. Choose to find satisfaction in having tried today. You are not being tested; you are being invited to become more of who God always has intended for you to be.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ How are you growing and trying these days?

I do not believe I am physically beautiful at all. I always have to force self love and self acceptance to keep me from spiraling down the tunnel of hating how I look. It sounds shallow but it hurts deep to have feelings of unhappiness from just looking at the mirror. They say to feel beautiful is to believe it and embrace it no matter if its only you who does. This year I did not choose to make any resolutions, but I chose to be positive and accepting of the things I cannot change and the things I don't necessarily believe in. As of writing this I am gonna choose to start believing and embracing me...all of me. And start seeing little specs of beauty when i look in the mirror. #itsoktonotbeok

Hey it me, Kate! 👋🏻🤗 This year I set out to dive into A LOT & right off the bat, I want to start talking about prescription medication. Maybe meds aren’t your cup of tea... BUT maybe your meds ARE a cup of tea....? Say whhhaaaaaa....????!!! Let me unfold that a bit in just a sec! -Maybe you’re like me & you’ve been negatively effected by prescription medication & avoid it like the plague! Maybe for whatever reason, you’re skeptical or hesitant when considering medicating yourself for whatever you’re struggling with- mentally or physically.. Sometimes we get to be so convinced that our suffering isn’t as bad as it seems because “at least we’re not...” or “it could be worse because..” ... Y’all, when did that become a thing?! Comparing our suffering to something worse & then ignoring our own needs because relatively we’re not the poorest, most broken, most unfortunate human being on the face of the plant... So often we wait & we wait & wait until we are DESPERATE to get help ourselves & we find ourselves in states of emergency when there’s something we could have done.. so much sooner.... Maybe it could be a tiny orange bottle .. or a dude in a white coat! BUT 👏🏻 what about the MILLIONS of other remedies we can seek out that aren’t so scary, or unpredictable or hard to understand.. Ones that are naturally sourced & REALLY do help! From St. Jon’s warts to Kratom. From kava root to Passion flower. From lavender to lemon balm... there are SO MANY THINGS out there that not enough people are talking about!!! If you’re struggling & you want to reach out to all teas, oils, herbs & supplements I use to manage- please feel free to reach out!! Or refer back to our New Years post about what I use personally! I’m here today to tell EVERYONE that there really are a million little things that we can do in our lives to get us one step closer to the lives we want! I could of put a filter on this and hidden everything I am embarrassed for everyone to see. But when I started feeling myself sink today, I simply told myself "it ok to not be ok sometimes". I have become very strict with every aspect of my life. And while I try to look like I have my shit together, everything seriously feels like its spinning out of control. I recently cut out all gluten, dairy, cut back caffeine to one cup of coffee in the morning, and cut out soy. I suffer with a headache daily and that's so not normal for me. Look at my nose!! It doesnt hurt but my skin is really suffering. I am gradually making life style changes! I know it needs to happen but I know my PCOS is really reaking havoc on every part of me and the only way I can feel "normal" or get "relief" is to help myself! So back to my supplements, back to whole nutrition, focusing on me alittle more, and back to Brii! What's in my cup: Almond milk with Banana-its new try it! Daily sunshine strawberry banana packet (was the last one we had) Half of a banana A mixture of frozen spinach, mangos, and pineapple! **And this taste amazing, thought it would help with this irritating headache that wont leave me alone I will be more active in hope to help other women with pcos find their way as well!
