Wow wow wow! Crafting and connecting on London transport to tackle social isolation and loneliness big upzzzzzz yessssss!!! Well done @craftmoves @reddskinuk @craftmoves with @get_repost ・・・ This week we've been encouraging strangers to make meaningful connections through surprise crafting on @transportforlondon 😁 When was the last time you had a conversation with a stranger? On Monday we will be pitching to bigwigs for a wad of cash so that we can make our idea fly (not literally. Planes next year) Filtered the sh*t out of this video by @bethanjharris but still couldn't hide the dwindling biscuit packet 😬 We believe that crafting connects people. Do you? Ending loneliness in London through craft. #itsoktonotbeok

Behind this smile is a long battle with mental health. Depression and anxiety try to control me day after day. Some days they win the battle.. but I WILL win the war. . . . #itsoktonotbeok

So, as someone who has worked in mental health for the last 10 years (counting volunteer time), let me say how truthful this is. Seek help. Medication IS NOT a "be all, end all", but it is a form of help. Coupled with therapy and self care, it can be part of a mental health care plan that can not only save your your life, but lead you to a fulfilling one. We are sometimes at our strongest when we ask for help. If you need to talk, DM me. I will be here when no one else will be. 📚📚📚📚📚 #itsoktonotbeok

Last night, I felt my anxiety fully. And my depression slowly crept up, but wasn’t an extreme. I managed to fight off the anxiety - enough to feel stable, at least. But I realized - how do I advocate to end this mental health stigma? Well using my photographer’s eye and not glamming up after my anxiety stabled - I set up a space of how it may look like, for me specifically, when anxiety and depression hits. It may look sad, but it’s real. I could post something of me smiling and whatever, but it wouldn’t be how I feel inside a little more than half the time. I want to be REAL. I fall more times that I would like to, but I’m going to keep fighting my absolute hardest. #itsoktonotbeok

One thing I think a lot of us can relate to is that we very rarely show the world when we are struggleing or not feeling good about things. Most of us are very open when things are great, but much more closed when things are bad. What I want to say is, it’s ok to not be ok. It’s part of life. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or tell the people around you how you are feeling. It’s not shameful to struggle, it’s only human. Whatever it is, we need to let ourselves have bad times when they come. Let it out, let it go and then move forward. It’s from these moments we make our biggest growth.
