Art Detectives worldwide: Here is one for you ⬇️ #josefalbers colour screenprint before and after the We found this beautiful piece in a shop for in Northern Germany and did some research on it to find out more: There is a label on the backside of the frame as you can see in the pictures. The frame is by , 8221 Melrose Av, . The paper is verso labeled but neither signed nor dated. BUT the famous US printer and art collector worked together with Josef Albers in 1964/65 and printed a lot of works for Albers. Tyler then had his studio in 8221 Melrose Av, Los Angeles! We therefor are pretty sure that our screenprint is originally by Josef Albers. Maybe a paper or a . The colors match the "Porta Negra" print version which is worldwide known. It's part of Albers "soft edge - hard edge" Portfolio. Similar prints are part of the of and the Josef Albers, Porta Negra, Colour screenprint on vellum, 44 x 44 cm, 1964/65.
