In Guatemala, women struggle through abuse, poverty, and heartache. But these women are now becoming proud business owners! By utilizing their traditional skills, they are able to create beautiful products that reflect their culture. They can provide for their families at home rather than leaving in search of work and can also send their children to school to pursue their dreams. This is because people like you purchase their work! Purchase this piece and empower a woman in Guatemala! [Mosaic Clutch | $32] This clutch has a wristlet. It is lined and has card pockets and a zipper closure. Colors and patterns vary widely. Made in Guatemala from upcycled traditional blouse fabric called Huipil, with each pattern symbolizing the village from which the woman came.

It's not quite perfect but I'm pleased with how this is looking. This is a quarter of the large retro bloom pattern from the super talented Lorna @clothandcrescent for the latest issue of @lovequiltingmag. This will become a tote bag but I'm tempted to make a cushion version with different prints too 🤓 #makersofinstagram

Hey, something different today. I expect a lot of you follow the fab printmaker @johnapedder, and if so you’ll know he does this brilliant thing where he sends a hand printed postcard of his demon head design to anyone who wants one. All he asks is that in return you donate to a good cause whatever you think it’s worth, be it your time volunteering, a donation to a food bank, money to a charity, whatever. Just pay it forward. . So today he’s put out a call to action, for others to join him on 29th March in spreading a little good in this crazy world. I think it’s such a lovely idea- all these little pieces of art being sent around the world, so I’m defo joining in! I’m thinking I might do a special run on my silver birch prints (maybe in a nice European flag blue!) and send them as postcards to anyone who wants one. . I’ll make a prototype and show you, so you can see if you’d like one. In the meantime maybe you’d like to go and read the original post on John’s feed, and join in yourself? (He explains it a lot better than me, too!) . #makersofinstagram
