I used to work near this Don Mills location and never would've predicted then how I would find myself back in the hood teaching yoga here (subbing). I've stopped questioning the past for it's played a role that is no longer applicable. Work with what you have right here right now to the best of your abilities. Good things are in the air. Spring? Yeah, that too. Can you feel it? #moveforward

Some things come easier for other people! SO. WHAT.?!? We can either freakin dwell on it, OR JUST DEAL with it! Have you ever thought that that one person you’re obsessing over that life just “comes so easy” for them, is most likely looking at you and obsessing over something you do better than them!!! So let’s just all get over our damn selves and make the effort to put in the work if we want something in our lives to change! Yes it may be harder for you than the next person but that in NO way means it’s not obtainable!! . . . . . . . . . . #moveforward

Have you ever heard the saying, "don't look back just keep moving forward"? Or have you ever had someone say, "I don't look back because I have no regrets"? I've heard countless people say this and I always wonder why we throw shade at the idea of looking back. I choose to look back because I learn something from what has happened in the past. I learn something from my lived history. And I learn something from the lived history of others. The past is my teacher, it's my guide, and it's how I create direction for what happens next. . . . When we talk about justice, it requires looking back. It requires owning mistakes and having some regrets. It requires knowing there's something to be learned from what has happened in the past. Any form of justice requires looking back at what has happened, what road has been paved, and taking it all into consideration to make choices for how to dismantle faulty systems and move towards change. . . . I look back not angrily, but happily knowing I have a road map of where I'm going and what needs to happen. Treat the past as a gift and value that gift as a guide for making a dent in movements of social justice. 📸 @mistermilogreen
