Cabinets and shelves are officially installed in our new office, and we're more excited than ever! 🙌🏽 Next month, we're moving just 5 miles down the road to Berewick Town Center, next to the Charlotte Premium Outlets. Are you loving these updates as much as we are? 😀

Not my case, this was posted in my group chat with colleagues. Very interesting case! Patient with spinal cord compression at C2-4 levels, intubated, sedated. Noted to have junctional bradycardia as seen on first EKG then also had pauses and intermittent nonsustained VT episodes as seen on rhythm strips. From the discussion I learned that cord impingement, especially this high up in the cord, can cause sinus arrest. So very interesting!! . . . . . #patientcare

A wild fluffy dandelion head in her natural habitat. . . Fighting for her patients, one clinical determination review phone call at a time. . . Because I believe in patient advocacy. I believe in treating our patients like family, because sometimes we are the only family they have, sitting next to them in the infusion center and holding their hand, or a box of tissues, while they work through their diagnosis and their options for healing. . . I don’t just believe in chemotherapy and modern medicine. I believe in treating the patient in front of you. I believe in opening up our eyes (especially that all seeing third eye chakra) and really listening and observing what the patient in front of you is saying. What do they want to do before or during chemo that will help to improve their experience? Is there anything herbal or natural they would like to discuss? How does their religion or spiritual practice fit into this intensive care situation? And how can I best accommodate their unique needs? . . I believe in asking “how can I best support you at this time?” Not just rattling off the regimen that the doctor prescribed and asking consent to pursue authorization and clinical approval. . . We need to stop viewing our patients as case numbers and medication regimens, and remember that they are human, just like us, and deserving of our compassion and RESPECT. . . Let’s spread a little more in our healthcare system, because our patients deserve it. Loving and honoring your journey, always, your little dandelion head. ✨
