Never underestimate the struggles that are hiding behind a smile. I wear a smile as part of my armor, it doesn’t make me weak or strong, it simply protects me from having to share the dark part of me. #ptsdsurvivor

Thank you to Bay & Lake Pharmacies of Eustis for their community support and assisting with these two veteran missions. Bay & Lake Pharmacies are the longest family owned and operated pharmacies in Lake County. This business always goes above and beyond to support their community and we're honored to be apart of this wonderful list. 100% of these donations will help @free_canes_for_vetetans and @florida4warriors missions to continue assisting our veteran's!! I grew up in a household where binge eating and crash diets were the norm. My parents were unhappy with their own weight and would project it onto me, regularly starving me, only allowing a small ziploc bag of carrots and radishes to eat during the day. I remember feeling weak and nauseated throughout my childhood as a result. Then, when their “diet” failed by dinnertime, they binge ate until they were sick, and would encourage me to do the same. If I didn’t indulge on the same level they did (an effort I assume was done to make them feel better about what they were doing to themselves), I’d be ridiculed. . With two parents with eating disorders as my only example for how to eat, it’s no wonder I developed such a dysfunctional relationship with food so early into my life. . To this day, eating veggies still sometimes takes me back to those days of hunger pangs and shame. But I also feel proud of myself for my ability to lose the weight while incorporating all types of foods into my diet without having to starve myself. That’s something they’ll never have, and they’ll never be able to take away from me. . 📷: Epic bar + veggies (tomatoes, radishes, snap peas, carrots) + canteloupe + Bai . . . . . #ptsdsurvivor
