MISSION MUSCLE: SET UP DAY 2⁣ ⁣ So you’ve got your RDI and modified it depending on your dieting plan, but what do you do now? Read below to find out (if you haven’t seen the last post, go check it out cause this will make more sense) ⤵️⤵️⤵️⁣ ⁣ 🤔 What do I do with my daily calorie intake (DCI) now?⁣ 👉🏼 The next thing to do is distribute your daily calories accordingly across 3 macronutrients: carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Each macro has a caloric value per gram, which when put together in meals will equal your DCI.⁣ ⁣ 🤔 Well what macros should I have?⁣ 👉🏼 Every diet should consist of all macros, including fats! They all provide different health benefits (info for another day) and they all play a vital role in transforming your body. ⁣ 📝 Quick note: carbs and proteins have 4 calories per gram, fats have 9 calories per gram. I’ll explain this in another post.⁣ ⁣ 🤔 How much do I need of each macro?⁣ 👉🏼 This depends on the diet you are involved in. Protein is usually the macro we like to have most as it takes the longest to digest, but during a bulk we tend to have more carbohydrates. I’ve provided a % breakdown above for each diet style, these are just what I like to use but play around with them to suit you. From this % you can calculate how many grams of each macro you should have.⁣ ⁣ 🤔 Should I have more smaller meals per day?⁣ 👉🏼 No you don’t need to have 27 meals per day, this is purely preference. Multiple studies have shown that meal frequency has not proven to increase or decrease metabolism. More frequent small meals may help with cravings and time management, but that is the only noticeable benefit. For me, I’m having 4 meals a day plus a few snacks due to time restraints.⁣ ⁣ % photo order: bulk, maintain, cut. More info in comments below ⤵️⤵️
