It is easy to become obsessed with trying to chase fitness goals. . We realise we want to lose weight, that we want to look and feel better... . So we focus on every last detail of our diet meticulously. . Sometimes to such an extent that how we feel that day is dictated by how well we think our diet is going. . If things are going well we’re happy. . When we go off track we start to question our own self worth. . Sometimes we become so focused that we forget that there are other things in life that matter. . Our body and health are important but when they are the only thing we have to focus on...time comes to a stand still. . It’s like being back at school and staring at the clock, counting down every second until schools out... . Time drags. . But there are so many reasons to enjoy each and every day. . Things we miss because we aren’t looking for them. . We are too focused on the goal and the idea that with its achievement will come fulfilment and happiness... . But the real transformation is happening each and every day. . When you choose to make being lean and healthy a lifestyle.... . There is no on or off the diet, there are no mistakes...there’s just life. . There are no good or bad foods . There is no “I was bad today” or “I was good today” . Habits aren’t things you’re trying to adopt, they are just a way you have decided you are going to live. . Choosing to look and feel your best isn’t a goal, it’s a product of your lifestyle. . This is why short term solutions don’t work. . We don’t get to enjoy the benefits for something we only do for a couple of weeks every few months. . There is nothing in life that is rewarded for inconsistency. . If you want your car to keep running, you have to top it up. . If you want to be paid by the boss, you need to keep going to work. . If you want a relationship to stay strong you have to be present when you get time together and you have to keep appreciating each other. . Looking and feeling our best is the same, we have to keep showing up. . But when you make the decision to show up every day from now on... . Then pressure disappears because you can’t fail when there is no end goal.

I thought about this and actually felt lost for a few moments and didn't know. I base everything on a weight. What weight I'll be in a weeks time, for an event, for my birthday, for Christmas. Then the disappointment when I don't get there because sometimes you just can't lose fat that fast or you're just holding water/carbs/anything else! I need to shift my focus and meaning in life. I want to help other people see their purpose in life is not to be a certain weight on the scale, not to worry about fitting in to a box the world would have you believe you need to fit into. I've decided to stop weighing myself, getting out of the habit of weighing in everyday and having it dictate my mood and self worth will be tough but I need to help myself get away from the diet mentality. I want to enjoy all types of different foods, enjoy food, both overthink it all the time and argue with myself about what to eat, look forward to eating, train hard and actually have the energy to push myself instead of hitting a wall each time and feeling weaker due to not eating! I realise now I'm stopping myself from moving forward. I'm going to focus more on my workouts and living a healthy life- mentally and physically. It's not about weight loss anymore, it's so much more than that, I want to push myself further and achieve so much, you can't do that restricting food and only focusing on weight loss on the scales. It will be hard, I have disordered thinking when it comes to food and a binge/starve cycle I'm trying to break but I know with support I'll be ok. #strengthtraining
