Let's introduce another sibling of the Vitamin B family, niacin. ⠀ Ingredient of the Day (): Niacin ⠀ Vitamin B3, also known as nicotinic acid (niacin) or niacinamide, is a natural ingredient that can be found in common foods such as meats, vegetables, grains, and dairy. Niacin is manufactured as a water soluble white powder for formulation. ⠀ Niacin in skin care improves the softens of the overall texture of the skin by reducing the appearance of pores and minimizing a greasy look to the skin. Studies have shown facial creams that include niacin help reduce signs of fine lines and wrinkles and improve the skin's appearance for a more even toned complexion.

Unfiltered beauty ⚡️ The first photo here is edited/filtered, the next one is raw/unedited, and the last one was taken maybe 20 minuets prior before makeup. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s been a long week, I’ve washed my face maybe 5 times, my routine has been: cleanse and moisturize, maybe curology. I’ve slept probably a collective 10 hours, I’m stressed to the max and I have three cystic spots forming. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think about this topic often, unfiltered beauty. I wonder why when I take my makeup off at night I feel naked. Or why when I post an acne photo or a barefaced photo I feel the need to explain why— as if just being me, blemishes and all is intolerable without an explanation, I feel like I have to give a reason for each mark and blemish. And I wonder when I traded reality for a filter. Even now, after “fixing my skin” I still breakout and I still feel insecure. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I try to remind myself of these things: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1.Social Media is a highlight reel of the best versions of ourself. The perfect makeup look, when our skin is clear and looking good, etc etc. But there is a whole other world that exists outside of these little squares: bad skin days, fights with our families, stress from work, heartbreak. Social media is relative to what people want you to see and that is ok, just remember nobodies life is perfect, no matter how good it looks here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2.Skin is skin, and good skin does not equal self worth or beauty. Beauty is (prepare yourself for the cheesy-ness but it’s true) the details of a person— it’s your personality, your effort, the small things and moments— a kind compliment, a warm laugh. How you treat people. You have infinitely more to offer this world and those around you than the surface of your skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3.Comparison will kill you. And in regards to social media, more often than not you’re probably comparing yourself to something that is not even real. Facetune and photoshop create the most unrealistic expectations and therefore the most heavy disappointments. Don’t feel down by what you see on the internet.
