Part 1. Social Media has become a mainstay of life & business. Being able to churn out good photos/videos on a consistent basis can be a challenge. Made more so by having to rely on professionals to assist with this task. While it’s okay to hire a photographer/graphics person for specific photo/video shoots, I find that having the ability to spontaneously take pictures/videos yourself makes you much more agile in business & makes it easier to always have good content on the ready. A few cost-effective photography lessons/tips I stumbled on along the way. I do most photography/videos using my phone. For longer videos, I use a camera. Its not a sophisticated camera. I find that the picture & video quality on my phone is much better than on the camera I currently have. Some of the other things that have personally helped my accidental (amateur) photography/video ministry. 1. A sturdy tripod stand. Mine is a small Sony VCT-R100. Bought years ago, I recently remembered I had some such thing😲, dusted it, & we’ve been inseparable ever since. Had a challenge mounting my phone on it initially (the screw-on place was for a camera), but a YouTube work-around assisted. 2. Good lighting. I always maintain the sun is the best light for photography, but we don’t have the luxury of telling the sun where to stand😃, so I had to invest in lights. Initially got 2 Yongnuo Pro Led Video Light YN300, but they weren’t bright enough for all scenarios. So we added flood lights in the rooms we wanted to photograph in. The mobile the lights, the better. . 3. Eliminating shadows is key. With all the harsh lights, stark shadows are inevitable. Found out that its better to diffuse those lights. 2 or 3 layers of tailor’s “stay” folded over bright lights emits a soft light – great for photographs. . To be continued (IG text limit😔). . Floor vases behind me there N 5,800. They come in Red, White, Black. Other colors available on request. . To check out our flowers for floor vases, click link in bio & search for “long vase". .
