As you can see, I was really feeling the pregnancy obstacles while climbing outside the other day. Listening to your body is one of the most important things you can ever do, especially while pregnant. My balance, mindset, breathing, strength, technique, flexibility, and endurance is all changing now. I’m learning how to work with those changes and appreciate my climbing friends for being supportive and keeping Madison and I safe on the rock! Thanks for the photo @brookbriana
2 years ago today @mattg85 asked me to be his girlfriend and spend the rest of my life with him. We signed our court documents to make our “promise” official in November of 2018. We decided to hold off on our wedding ceremony for a year to attempt fertility treatments and purchase our dream home. Now our life is a never ending beautiful dream! I have an amazing husband, a beautiful baby girl on the way, 4 loving animals and our gorgeous dream home! Together Matt and I built a foundation stronger than anything. We were absolutely made for each other. It’s a healthy balance and a forever love. Happy anniversary to the man I get to call my best friend, lover, and baby daddy.. you truly are the most amazing human I have ever met.
Belly update- everything is growing. Butt, boobs, legs and a little belly 😍 Questions answered- Morning sickness? Yes, only when I waited too long to eat. Food aversions? Not really. I had smell aversions... I couldn’t stand the smell of other people. I didn’t wear lotions or perfumes the first 3 1/2 months. I could smell someone across the room and wanted to get sick. The smell of Matt even bugged me 😂 Cravings? Absolutely! I craved Orange juice and oranges. I NEVER drank orange juice until I got pregnant. I’ve consumed enough for an army by now. How’s sleeping? I sleep about 8 hours. The only thing that has changed is my dreams are INSANE and I when I have nightmares they are HORRIBLE, so bad I wake Matt up with either screaming, crying or kicking. Have you felt her yet? After I ate dinner the other night I felt a flutter and know it wasn’t “just gas”. Do you still workout and rock climb? Yes and yes, my first trimester I was taking it super easy due to the fertility doctors recommendation. I walked a lot in my first trimester or did light weights. Now I am back to full energy (well, full enough with a baby taking half of it) I am rock climbing at least 2-3 times a week. Walking about 4.0 miles a day and doing workouts at the gym to at least burn 200-400 calories. I’m focused on staying healthy and focusing on my form to keep baby Madison safe. Has anything day to day changed? I’m out of breath all the time. I’m eating a lot more stuff that I never ate. Although I miss massages and alcohol... I love knowing she’s in there safe and sound. I’m in love with her already.
Dear Daddy, family and friends, I do not have a face to see, or put inside a frame. I do not have soft cheeks to kiss; Or a laugh or cry you can hear. You cannot hold my tiny hands, nor whisper in my ear. It's still too soon to tickle me, or cuddle me so near. But all will change come August, when they say I'm due. I'm your new daughter, granddaughter, niece and loved one; I can't wait 'til I meet everyone!!! All I ask between now and then is your patience while I grow. I promise I'll be worth the wait, because of the love we'll know. So as you're waiting patiently, please pray lots of prayers for me. Thank you for fighting for me and not giving up Mommy and Daddy. I cannot wait to be a part of this crazy family! Love Madison. A year ago @mattg85 and I were told that we had less than a 1% chance of bearing children. Our plans for our life adventure included children so we sought fertility treatments. Ava Littman at Red Rock Fertility made our dream adventure come true! Our baby bear is growing strong 💕
Take the time to enjoy the little tedious things in life. Those moments not only test your patience but your commitment as well. Making sure things are done right will pay off in the end! This past year has been the most meaningful learning experience for me. Putting your time and energy into the little things may seem like a waste at the time but will definitely give you the results you want in the end. . . .
Beautiful Red Rock Canyon at Cannibal Crag on Caustic Cock-5.11b. One of my favorite routes! This climb is perfect for laps 😊 . . . .
Hung out with this little guy all day while I was fishing. He followed me around the whole lake. . . .
Not many people can honestly say they found their “Life”. I say this because Matt loving me has helped me understand that life is truly about enjoying your time while you have it and finding happiness and he is mine. He is the ONE person I will never give up on. The one person that I want to be around and experience everything with. He’s my Life, and today is his birthday. Long story, not so short, @mattg85 is kind of a big deal and deserves the embarrassing shoutout. Happy Birthday mi amor 😘 . . .
Working a physical job on graveyard makes it hard to eat healthy, get good workouts and get enough sleep. I made myself a promise to make these 3 things a priority when switching shifts! I usually do healthy stir frys with grilled shrimp, salmon or chicken before work.. but tonight I attempted a delicious salad inspired by @gnarlygirlfitness. I wasn’t going to post this but I thought I’d give credit to her, my sister @navadiva, my mom and Fiancé @mattg85 for the motivation! My workouts haven’t been my best lately but after talking to Matt, my sister and my mom today, I went to the gym and had an amazing 2 hour full body workout burning almost 1,000 calories. I also ran 1 mile in 6 min and 18 seconds WITH a 20lb weight vest on! Thank you, you all are truly appreciated! (There is 4 different types of green lettuce/spinach under all those veggies and proteins) . . . .
@rockclimbingwomen posted a photo of me climbing today and it made me really miss climbing. So here’s one of my favorite pictures. I’ve had to take a break from climbing this past year for a couple reasons, I’m almost to a point where I’ll have time to start climbing again and can’t wait! Thank you @adventum_outfitters for all the support through the years. I appreciate you and your gear! It’s motivating me to stay in climbing shape 😊 P.C. @brookbriana . . . . .
I was able to get my Dad to go fishing with me!! We took a trip to Ely and had a blast. Life is too short to not go out and make memories. There will always be a reason not to go or not to spend money but if you really think about what you’re spending your time/money on it’s completely worth it. We work too hard to not enjoy the now. If you have a burning desire, let it be your fuel, go and enjoy your time while you can. . . . . #fatherdaughtertrip#fishing#roadtrip#flyfishing#adventuretime#adventure#wanderlust#outdoorphotography#outdoorlife#family#memories#trip#vacation#flyfishing#adventumoutfitters#trout#rainboetrout#ely#nevada#cavelake#photooftheday#instagood#instalike#flyfishinggirls#flyfishingaddict
Permanent goals: -To make a positive difference in at least one person’s life every day. -To see people for their finest and to not judge them for anything less than that. -To become and stay well rounded. -Be supportive of my friends and family, walk beside them and help in any situation they need. -To continue to make short and long term goals in all aspects of my life, and put my all into achieving them. . . .
