Just shared with 12-year olds at Brooklyn German School about Super Size Me + healthy eating... They were awesome! I gave them 2 assignments: 1. Look up the Dirty 12/Clean 15. Know which fruits + veg are safer from pesticide residue. Take part in educating your family. 2. Learn the Hero’s Journey + map out your favorite Marvel movie to learn the structure. We need kids to see that the topics + stories they care about could become the next Super Size Me! Inspiring + mentoring storytellers and creators of any age is a JOY! 🔥 You might wonder why I’d take 2 hours out of my work day to speak to kids... two reasons pop into mind: . Supporting + inspiring young people is a gift. They are the next leaders + sometimes they need someone who has “made it” to give them permission + encouragement to follow their passions. . I’m a big believer in going where Life calls you to serve. I may not do “health coaching” anymore, but the energy of this Life will get you out of your shell if you’re open to it. 3. I can walk + chew gum at the same time: I do more than life and success mentoring. I paint, write, podcast, and have 18+ years of food, health, positive psychology, creativity and mind-body coaching to draw from. I never know where it will lead, but keeping open to new possibilities keeps me engaged + learning. 🔥

Begin now. It’s never too late.. maybe you waited all this time for this moment to come around. I started watercolor classes when I was 33, and sold my first painting at 42. It was my outlet, passion, and joyful flow state for years before it became a “business.” Now I help driven womxn being their passions + desires to life. If you’re sitting on a Dream, and feel forces conspiring to bring it out of you, perhaps The Rich Creatrix is for you... look here for the announcement later this week. In the meanwhile, give yourself the gift of time to work on your passion today. You deserve it. And there are other people who will want to see it, too. . . 📷 by @samjosephphotography

Do you have a craft corner or art room that needs a spring cleaning? Getting clear on what you have to work with is KEY... organizing colors makes me feel ready + inspired to CREATE. After two weeks of leading other womxn through their creative process so they can launch lucrative program + platforms, in super excited to return to my painting. This week I’ll be working with a Meditation Portrait client who is ready for art made especially for her to inspire her next level of writing. Can’t wait! 🖌 What are you working on? What’s your art project for today? Are you organizing or making? Tag me in your art posts, and drop an emoji below to LMK you’re in your Creatrix Zone! . . .

Did you hear? Spring is here! Had my first night of roller skating in over a year last night - felt A L I V E!! That flow state, that GO state. Rolling into 44 next week on hot pink suede....How do you love to move? What fun ways do you move your body just for the sheer joy of it? Can’t wait to skate again soon...Flashback to a warm day on @moxirollerskates ... . .

Kicking off 44 right with these amazing womxn! Roller skating, deep convo and lots of great 80s music from Prince and The Bangles. . .

Apologizing when it’s warranted is great. But many of us driven womxn default to apologizing so often, we disempower ourselves and make ourselves small. Thank someone for their patience and presence, and move on. Share an emoji or tag a friend that needs to see this! ♥️

Working with an amazing doctor this week on her offerings, branding and creative voice. Her personal stories will elevate her professional presence in ways I’ve never seen before. She is unique - her story is not cookie cutter. None of the womxn I work with are lookalikes. So I don’t offer one-size-fits-all programs or coaching. It’s all curated for one woman, her story, strengths, and dreams. And it’s epic, every time. . .

At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer. At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare. At age 28, Wayne Coyne (from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn’t get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didn’t release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his first movie role until he was 46. Morgan Freeman landed his first MAJOR movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78. My own grandma was encouraging art students (themselves in their 70s) from her death bed at 92. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it. Never tell yourself you missed your chance. Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough. You can do it. Whatever it is. Tag a friend who needs this...

Last week I gathered 4 womxn in NYC for a special 2-day gathering. These womxn were itching to create their next step - a new business, a book proposal, a coaching program, and more. This unique Unapologetic Creative retreat was the first of its kind, had no fancy marketing, but was designed out of 18 years of coaching + experience… Who told me I could offer this kind of thing to womxn entrepreneurs? No one. I had to decide + just do it. I began to think of Daenerys, Mother of Dragons, from Game Of Thrones. (If you’re not a fan, just stay with me…) Daenerys has to claim her titles over + over, facing down systems + armies who don’t believe she’s got a right to be Queen. Over time she becomes: Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea,Breaker of Chains, + Mother of Dragons. She stopped waiting for people to tell her who she was, and claimed those titles for herself. And she has to tell people who she is, over + over again. You might laugh, but we all need to be more like Daenerys. We keep ourselves from claiming what we want + who we are, and it stifles our creative mastery, power + self-trust. We hide, + we play small, even though we feel deeply unsatisfied with our smallness. We hide or play small in many ways: *Force ourselves to accomplish some arbitrary goal before allowing ourselves what we truly want… *Stay in the planning zone, always rehashing timelines, or strategizing at the whiteboard… *Adding more layers of complexity, perfecting + polishing every single aspect ... *Researching everything that has been said, done or studied about your topic… *Continuously going back to school for more certifications or degrees… *We put our self care at the bottom of the list, silently sabotaging our desires with low energy and “lack of focus” issues… What are the answers to end this playing small? [CONTINUED IN COMMENTS...]

Unsatisfied with smallness... taking the time to Dream bigger. Because the womxn coming to work with me are unsatisfied with what feels ‘too small’ for their lives....even the old struggles feel boring and past-due. Time to level up. . . . .

Stacked green inks + watercolors for all the Irish out there... or those just craving the start of Spring. 💚 I’ve been down with the flu all week, no energy to get to the studio to paint. But I miss it. Flipping through a stack of old paintings, getting ready to launch my online gallery for sales, I happened across this stack of green geometric shapes. What do we do with all this art? 💚 Last weekend I happened upon an open studio where I was taking a watercolor class. A sign on the door told a sad tale: the previous renter had died and all the remaining supplies and work was free to take. Walking through the studio, amongst the filled, forgotten sketch books, paintings and art books, I felt a mix of sad and wonder: what could I see of this artist’s life from the work they’d left behind? Only that they had lived. And really, really, r e a l l y loved purple. . .

So to all you artists, creators, entrepreneurs: Here’s to being + feeling enough. @arches.art@winsorandnewton
