@theophileblandet‘s work revolves around his interest in materials that will not be able to exist in the future, specifically plastic. Blandet believes that plastic production will shortly be banned entirely. His works celebrate the future rarity of plastic and doing so, subverting the current value of the material. Gathering a variety of industrial plastic, he gives it a second chance, and presents plastic as the new ivory, a future forbidden matter and an endangered resource. Blandet’s work is exhibited at @functionalartgallery at .

This bed by Gianni Pettena, from 1985, was part of the group exhibition “Buon Compleano.” The artists were invited by Galleria Speciale to take part in a research setting to interpret household furniture as ceremonial places. The bed is made up of a set of palanquins that acquire significance only when assembled. According to an elementary scheme, when united, the palanquins could in theory be continued ad infinitum, creating a “place” of greater and greater intensity. This work can be seen in December @erastudioapartmentgallery.
