@corelifeeatery inspired power bowl made at home! And we devoured them! Quinoa, Buffalo chicken, black olives, raw carrot sticks, mixed greens, Kimchi, fried egg and @primalkitchenfoods Caesar dressing! **Because the quinoa and chicken were prepped ahead, this took 10 minutes to make!** This will definitely be on repeat!!! Here's the thing, I've been working some long days with some crazy personal stuff going on and feeling on the verge of getting sick every day for 3 weeks! And I wanted to come home and go to bed. But I only needed 10 minutes of energy to make this healthy meal! It was WORTH the 10 minutes. Trust me! 👊👊 👊
I tracked macros for a short time and know I struggle getting in enough protein. So now I just add extra on the side! This buffalo chicken on a sprouted wrap with guac, black oilves and mixed greens was so good! Tuesdays have become our own version of taco Tuesday. Basically some variation of chicken in a wrap with guac and greens. It's an easy Tuesday meal. Takes me 5 minutes to make because I cook extra chicken on Sunday. Happy Tuesday! Xo, Liz 😘

Every single time we go to @corelifeeatery it is soooooo delicious. Hubby approved. Check it out in the Castleton area! Swipe for hubby's meal. I got the Korean BBQ Power Bowl and Greg got the BBQ Chicken Power Bowl with a side of brussels. Why not? 🧛♀️ Happy Sturady! It's been a busy day, up at 4:30am (thank you brain), 5k race with #greatniece (nap after), birthday with my dad at the rehab hospital, dinner and now time to chill at home. Yes please! I desparatley need some down time. I've been on overdrive all week and not sleeping well at all.
Up since 3:30am, gave up on trying to go back to sleep at 4:15am. Worked for an hour, journaled, read my devo, snuggled with the dog and decided to treat my hubby to an egg sandwich. All before 6:15am. I'll enjoy the extra time for today but kudos to all of you that do those 4am wakeups daily! I know I'll crash tonight. Going to need a whole lot of extra caffeine today! At least I got some #brainfood in this AM!
Waiting on the dog and reflecting... Being real over here! What do you do when life seems to come at you hard? It's so easy for me to react, to go into problem solving mode and let the circumstances ruin my day(s). I still have my defaults but here are some things I know I need to do when I get discouraged. 1. Turn to God in prayer, trusting Him 2. Reach out to my community for support and prayer. 3. Don't bury my feelings ~ honesty with my husband and a trusted friend. 4. Partner with my husband in solving the problem or how to react. 5. Keep up with my routine. This one is hard because we just want to wallow in our confusion, hurt, pain, worry. My routine is this... Journaling my gratitude, time with God doing a devo and sweating it out. These are necessities for staying mentally healthy for me. Problem is not solved by any of these things but my perspective gets redirected on the right path. Doesn't mean I'm done redirecting it in a day. Some issues are not solved in a day and I have 6o redirect daily or even hourly until either the situation has resolved or I've moved past it. Just being real today because to post anything else wouldn't feel true to you, my fitness community. Would love to hear what you do to keep your perspective positive?
Oh hey 💪 let's slay this day! I feel so energized today! Woke up earlier than my alarm and was glad to see it wasn't raining anymore. Check out my stories for a sinus smoothie that is 🔥 and for some nature in our morning walk! Plus, we did some running and Zane is great at pacing with me right by my side (most of the time). Get some movement in today friends ~ you will feel great! Happy Friday! #tiuflexfriday
Simplest meal idea I started over 10+ years ago. I've been doing this a long time! Buy chicken breast in bulk or on sale. When you get home from the store, immediately put it in freezer bag (enough for dinner plus extra). If you buy it from the freezer, use that bag ~ just be careful it isn't going to leak. Been there, done that. Add a marinade into the bag ~ preferably low sugar and high-quality marinade. I love to use clean salad dressings like Primal Kitchen for my marinade. Freeze the chicken in the marinade. Then the day you want to cook chicken, thaw bag in hot water. Bake it at 350 for 20 minutes or so! Just until it's tender to pull apart. You can also grill it if you prefer. The chicken is especially juicy when baked. Plus, you get leftovers for another dinner or lunch. I usually freeze at least 4 bags worth at a time! This allows you to save money on bulk pricing or sales! You can pair it with any veggie for dinner. I like a big salad. Add a baked sweet potato for when you are extra hungry. It's seriously so simple and always so tasty!
Lunch time walk + doggie time + yummy food = reason to be thankful. And even though we walked in the rain, it's not too cold out and the fresh air was perfect for my soul! Trying to hit my 10,000 steps today. Half way there! Happy Hump Day!
So... This has been my routine the last three nights! @so_delicious dairy free ice cream sandwiches. Not the worst choice- two sandwiches have 3 1/2 teaspoons. But THIS is the reason I don't buy many treats or even much packaged food. Especially not packaged food with added sugar. Hope is not a strategy to quote @msrachelhollis So if you want to cultivate healthy eating habits, don't buy food you don't want to be tempted by! 😂 But seriously, when you do want to allow yourself to splurge, buy it. Otherwise, don't keep it in the house! P. S. If you are going to splurge, be aware of what you are choosing to eat. Did you know there are 5 teaspoons of sugar in 1 serving of Nutella??? Thats 2 Tablespoons. #notahealthyfood #sugarcausesdisease #diabetes #heartdisease #dontbeastatistic
This is how we do "fast food" in our house. Last night, I made this quick dinner ~ Rotisserie chicken, frozen sweet potatoes and roasted brussels. Okay, the brussels were cut already the previous day so that made it easy! I think it's easy when people are starting a healthy lifestyle to overthink meals. They can be simple and delicious. Meat, veggie, healthy starch. Boom.
