Big bowl of the #tiuloveyourbody Spicy Asian Zoodles with ground turkey added. I have a goal of getting my protein in to build 💪! I think I need to mke this spicier next time and try it with shrimp! Once again this recipe is proof you don't need starchy carbs to enjoy a meal. I'm not against a starchy carb that's nutrient dense, but there is no doubt the American diet is too full of starchy carbs! Soap box: eating the right foods is #1 not about weight management! It's about disease prevention like heart disease, diabetes, dementia. Our commitment to a healthy lifestyle is motivated by a desire to live life to the fullest! Happy Friday Eve!
Still working on my salmon taste buds. This recipe is working. I actually again enjoyed the salmon and a little more even than before! This is my go to recipe right now. Thanks again @rgotshall! I'm sticking with this recipe for now but I may venture out after a few more times! Happy Tuesday! 🐠 🐠 🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠 P. S. It's okay to eat meals without starchy carbs. 😉 Took me a while years ago to get used to the idea buy now it's no big deal!
Kitchen sink lunch. Sunday norm to use up what we've got left. Always veggies thrown in the mix! HAPPY Sunday! 🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊 In my Insta story, I shared how I've worked out 4 days this week with a sinus headache. These pressure changes are always killer on my sinuses! I've come a long way with my health ~ haven't had a sinus infection in years and haven't been sick in almost a year. It really takes a proactive mindset to stay healthy... Good sleep, nutrient rich food, managing stress and moving (workouts)! It's easy to make excuses when we don't feel well, and I have my days for sure where I know I need rest. And some days I give in to a craving or laziness. But those are the exceptions because I want to feel my best to give my best. It's not that it NEVER happens it's just that to be healthy, unhealthy choices have to be the exception. What's a healthy choice you are making today? 😘
Love when I can take time to put all the toppings on our lunch salads. Check out my story for ingredients. ❄ ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ We've already done a short HIIT workout (hubby about died ~ ask him and he'll tell you), been to the vet, two stores, walked the dog, played with him in the snow and enjoyed Lulu's coffee. Sitting down for some extra journaling today and then bills. I have to say I've actually enjoyed this winter day. Not too cold and the snow was fun to experience with @life.with.zane HAPPY Saturday!
Each month I'm feeling stronger. Love focusing again on building strength. Can't wait to see where I'll be at my Inbody composition testing in February. Whose ready for more consistent #leancleangreen. 🙋♀️ I have been back on track most of this week! Had some candy still in he house so that happened tonight. 🙈 Happy Thursday! What new recipes are you trying next week?
Used my heavier booty band this AM for the #tiudailymoves and felt that lower body burn. I've been adding in a 10 minute workout with my hubby after my strength workouts and today the additional leg workout was killer. If I don't feel this one tomorrow or the next day, I'll be so surprised! 😲 Happy Tuesday! Whose glad to get their routine back? 🙋♀️
Lunch prep on Sunday makes for an easy Monday! Chicken sausage with roasted green beans (and a few sweet potatoes). Mmmmmmm.
Alternate to highly processed Christmas candy. 1/3 of a banana, 1/2 mandarin, 1/4 cup blueberries, dark chocolate chips and some Coco Whip!
Sometimes the simple things we get to help us on our health journey make me so excited! New athletic socks and a weight training progress journal. I've just been using my phone but as much as I love using my phone for to do's and my calendar, I really just want a written record of my weight sessions. Anyone else relate? Super excited to start using this next week. I'll post some video in my story of the inside! Happy Thursday! This week is flying by with the day off on Tuesday. Xo, Liz 😘
It's the new year and you may be seeing people set goals for 2019 that seem unattainable or posting about all their 2018 fitness accomplishments. And you may feel like you don't measure up. It's probably not because you don't set goals yourself but because they just don't fit where you are at. Guess what? A huge accomplishment someone does in a moment in time isn't anymore important than the everyday choices you make to live a healthy life. Don't be discouraged by the few who can train at an elite level or at any level farther along than you are. Push yourself at a level that fits you and your health. My personal journey isn't one defined by constant fitness accomplishments. I don't train in beast mode or whatever mode means I'm at the top of the game. I don't even work out an hour a day. 20, maybe 30 minutes. Am I healthy? Yes. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally. Have I met some big fitness goals in the past? Yes. But a majority of my journey is just pushing through the everyday to be the healthiest version of ME. Fighting chronic hip pain, two shoulder injuries, vertigo, my own mental block of thinking I'm not an athlete, struggles with depression, all barriers in my efforts to be healthy. It's ultimately about where I'm at any given moment and that I'm still striving to be healthy. So my success isn't based on what I can or can't do compared to someone else. It's based on me and my own benchmarks. I'm sharing this because I hear women talk about how they feel inadequate and often when we share our success, it unintentionally makes someone feel bad. It doesn't mean we should stop sharing. So I'll say this to those that feel they don't measure up. Don't let someone else define success for you. Set your goals, own them and then celebrate when you accomplish them! You don't have to be on someone else's plan or meet their milestones to be successful or most importantly healthy! Happy 2019! P.S. Most important goal is to keep moving your body!
Breakfast for dinner but had to include veggies. Brussels are in our top 3 fav green veggies! Happy Tuesday and Happy 2019! Xo, Liz 😘
This is a verse I wrote everyday for months while trying to discern a major life change. There are still many unknowns even in the midst of trusting, but I'm thankful for the faith to make a change. I'm constantly reminded that success isn't circumstances but an attitude in the midst of any circumstance. Counting my blessings as I start 2019! Happy New Year! Xo, Liz
