Topping out on The Glitch at The Gallery always a little scary 😬. Kinda run out sloppy holds pumped and the chance of hitting the slab behind exists especially if falling while clipping the chains. Didn’t send but was so happy to feel much stronger on it a the beginning of this season versus the end of last season all thanks to The Hood!
What an amazing experience to belay Alayna my daughter on her first send of a 10c and a solid one at that. “Running Amuck at The Gallery”. On her second go she pushed through the crux and this video is the top out. I love how she takes her time and shakes out to finish. It’s a little scary not much for holds up there and she’s pumped. She told me when she got down she didn’t want to give up though she was pumped and a little freaked out cause she was so close. The best part was seeing her face how lit up it was and how stoked and proud she was of her accomplishment. One of my all time favorite experiences. @bearksj
Learning to play the violin coming along little by little. I love that he is even interested in doing so. I can’t play a single instrument and have no idea how to read music 😂. Proud of you Ean for taking on a new creative challenge 👍🏼.
Words cannot express of how proud I am of my little crusher. Not only is she killing it in climbing I mean come on look at that arm and over hang 💪! She has all A’s and one B and I got a random email from her science teacher talking about how much of a pleasure it is to have her in class which speaks of her personality and character. She is crushing it in life! I am so proud and love you so much Alayna! @bearksj
This route has become my mini project 😑. I thought it would go down much sooner but still stuck after a month trying to top out to the anchor. My eyes are on Nirvana for this seasons project but can’t work it until Hotline goes down. Hopefully this Saturday 🤞. What I’m learning is most important. The process is everything the mental challenges and gains, the smallest adjustments on beta refinement, and the gain of fitness to finally finish. I think the biggest lesson is the many failed attempts in pursuit of accomplishing the goal which is to put it all together in a single go. To push ones self in climbing and grow in the grades you have to learn to fall in love with the process. If your not ok with getting shut down 90% percent of the time then I don’t think this sport is for you. Or you could just stay forever in your comfort zone but what fun is that. Food for thought. After two laps of not sending but getting a new high point on Hotline I decided to jump on Prophet into Nirvana which we nicknamed Pravana 😂. Feet always cut at this point. So much fun. Little sad Hotline didn’t go down literally 3 feet from the anchor its a heart breaker top out. Gotta love the fitness. PC📸 @brookbriana
I thought this was powerful because I think if we are all honest with ourselves at times we all may feel lonely. We all may try to medicate it in different ways people, food, drugs, religion, relationships, sports, traveling the world, etc. but at the end of the day it is a longing that can only be truly satisfied to the depth of our being in one place. I like how this quote was not condemning or saying something is wrong with us because we may feel lonely at times but that it is an indicator to return to the true intimacy our hearts crave.
Hotline! I love this route. Yes it was in the 90’s and we are crazy but it was so worth it to jump on it and get a one hang so early in the season. Nice job @pat.j.clark getting the one hang on Prophet, @shane.mclimbing for sending Hotline, and @devin__meade for just being a bad ass. @himynameishunter you were missed. PC📸 @shane.mclimbing
I love my family! After climbing we all met up to play bingo it was my brothers first time just turned 21. It’s a family tradition lol. Also my brother Christopher @borderjumper101_ is about to spend the next two years in Okinawa Japan. I’m super proud of you man and grateful for your service in the Marines. Gonna miss you bro!
