Cheetahs, on the lookout for predators and prey. These cats are a bit low on the predatory food chain in Africa, being light and ultra-fast comes at a price. Once a kill is made Cheetahs are quick to eat; if lions, leopards, hyena or any number of other animals catch wind of the kill they could loose it. Looking forward to spending time with these creatures very soon. Photographed in the @tswalu @jacadatravel @danahrichardson @juliefranzrich

Upper is a legandary place to photograph, especially during Spring/Summer when the light beams are present. The sun needs to be high enough to shine down into the canyon, the falling sand and dust are high-lighted and these stunning rays appear. I shot this photo in 1998, the place was jam packed with people and the working conditions weren’t easy but worth the struggle. I can’t even imagine the crowds these days! Photographed on Fuji

One from yesterday morning in @rockynps with my dad @dougladzinski. Just as the sun was rising we spotted a big herd of , our position couldn’t have been anymore lucky. The backlight of the sun was rim lightning everything and provided this beautiful fiery background. We watched them move across the frost covered meadow for about 30 minutes before they moved into a nearby forest, disappearing from our vantage. Photographed with the @nikonusa and 600mm f/4

The living and the fallen. The is a place where life is hard and water is a scarce. ’s are the biggest of the flora found in this rugged landscape, an iconic symbol of the region that is increasingly being threatened as heat index continues to rise. Coupled with California’s drought, J Tree’s and Mohave yucca’s are increasingly in danger of dying off. An estimated 90% of j trees in the park could be gone by the year 2100 if this heat and drought trend continues, a sad and terrifying prospect. Photographed for @natgeo

A wave of dark clouds scattered across the sky, a menacingly beautiful feeling of being under a gigantic crashing wave. In a way, it’s a similar circumstance - heavy moisture being smashed down by a lot of pressure and force. These formations are quite common under anvil clouds and severe thunderstorms, which was most certainly the case here. with riders on the storm @krystlejwright @skiparmstrong @tobypike @nampix

This was a pretty haunting photo to take, I remember the evening vividly. Seeing this penguin standing in an iceless scene among a graveyard of whale bones was surreal. The bones, a mistake from the past when blue whales were hunted to near extinction. The lack of ice, a mistake from our present, an ever warming climate directly correlated to excessive pollution. A hunting bugs at sunrise in the Florida . This male here is particularly vibrant, photographed during the breeding season earlier this year. The males at this time take on a more colorful plumage to attract females, kinda like their version of a night club. Photographed for @nikonusa with the new 500mm f/5.6 PF prime
