Life is a fragile, the moments fleeting and passings unpredictable. I woke to very sad news this morning that @jessroskelley@davidlama_official and @hansjoergauer had tragically been killed in an avalanche in the Canadian Rockies. The news shook me to the core and I couldn’t help but break down in tears. The photos here are of Jess, all that I have on my phone but enough to bring me back to happier times. In my sadness I’m grateful to have know you my friend. You, like David and Hansjörg, we’re larger than life and a joy to be around. My heart and prayers go out to the family of these three beautiful . May they rest in peace and be remembered warmly for the remarkable people they were.
When we were commissioned by @apple to film an #EarthDay campaign entirely on the iPhone I couldn’t believe it. It was nothing short of an honor to co-direct this ambitious project along side my long time friends at @camp4collective. We all set out in satellite teams to different parts of the world visiting 9 countries in total, armed with iPhones to capture Mother Nature at her rawest and most beautiful. I’m sincerely excited to share the end result here and humbled to have worked along side such a fantastic team. We hope you enjoy it happy, earth day everyone and don’t mess with mother! #shotOnIphoneXS
I’m sincerely heart broken to hear of the fire at #NotreDame. This iconic cathedral is a landmark of the city dating back to the 13th century. It was a place I visited every-time I was in Paris and gave me a sense of peace and warmth. My most recent visit was over New Years with my wife @danahrichardson. It’s hard to imagine it no longer standing proud, brightly illuminated among a courtyard full of people enjoying its beauty. Wishing the people of France the deepest condolences on this terrible day.
Processions of people poured through the city of Lhasa yesterday to celebrate the #SagaDawaFestival. As a photographer it was a blast exploring the city and watching it all unfold in front of my eyes. Here’s a small carousel of people visiting the #maniPrayerWheels as they walked around the city of Lhasa paying homage. @coryrichards@nikonusa@estebantopomena@erichroepke@roam#nikoneverest
Prayers and celebration rang through the streets of #Lhasa yesterday during the climax of the #SagaDawaFestival. The festival signifies the birthday and day that Sakyamuni entered nirvana. Buddhist followers walk around the outer part of Lhasa reciting scriptures while walking on the 8,000-metre-long outer ring of Lhasa, forming a grand parade. This is my first time visiting Lhasa and I knew nothing of this coming in, I initially thought this was the norm until later learning of this special occasion. Tibet is simply magical and I’m grateful to have experienced his as we slowly make our way closer to Everest base camp. @coryrichards@nikonusa@estebantopomena@erichroepke@roam#nikoneverest
