Tuesday Tip Most of the tasks that you procrastinate on aren’t actually difficult to do — you have the talent and skills to accomplish them — you just avoid starting them for one reason or another. ___________________________ The 2–Minute Rule overcomes procrastination and laziness by making it so easy to start taking action that you can’t say no. ___________________________ There are two parts to the 2–Minute Rule.... Part 1: If you can complete a task in 2 minutes or less, do it now. Immediately. Right now. There are so many easy, dumb things we put off that we could do in two minutes or less. Like, washing your dish right after eating a meal, throwing dirty clothes into the hamper instead of onto the floor, taking out the trash, sending out an email and the list goes on... ___________________________ Part 2: When you start a new habit, make sure it only takes two minutes or less to complete. The trick here is to create a two-minute habit that leads to your goal habit. A two-minute task is easy to knock out, making it much easier to begin a larger, more time-consuming habit.

Make that commitment to master and dominate ONE goal or endeavor. ••• Make a powerful decision and choose your one target that you are planning to hit with full intensity of your mind, body and limitless spirit. ••• Once you’ve made the most powerful decision of your life and decide that things will never be the same again, then it’s time to get to work! ••• It’s time to roll up your sleeves and prepare for battle. This is where most people go wrong. Once they make a decision or a choice to move in a new direction or even turn their life around, they fail to take action, because action is often the most daunting part of the deal, especially the first step. ••• So, as soon as you’ve decided what you are going to change, accomplish or dominate, DO ONE THING straight away to make it real. Feature Friday _____________________ Meet Kendall Cowan! Founder of @yycpetalproject _____________________ Nichole Brown Volunteer coordinator _____________________ and Kaitlyn Kanygin Business + Marketing _____________________ YYC Petal Project is a non-profit initiative that collects pre-loved flowers from weddings, events and businesses. They rearrange florals into smaller bouquets and deliver them to those around Calgary who will benefit from an unexpected gesture of kindness. _____________________ As such a sentimental and integral part of weddings, they started to wonder what happens to the floral arrangements after a couples big day. They came to understand that in a lot of circumstances, flowers are left behind and thrown out as part of next day cleanup, despite being a significant component that’s been carefully designed by florists to capture a couples vision. _____________________ It all started last summer when they reached out to local brides-to-be and asked if they had plans for their flowers after their special day, and if they’d be willing to donate them to be gifted to people who could benefit from the emotional boost. They picked up their first donation in August, broke arrangements into 24 small bouquets and delivered them to a shelter for women leaving domestic violence. After all the hugs and thank-yous, it was clear how impactful a small gesture is for individuals’ wellbeing, and so the project was born! _____________________ Learn more about YYC Petal Project on our ‘Feature Friday’ highlight story. _____________________
