This is quite the process. I stripped some cast iron pans I have and I’m in the process of reseasoning them. A cycle thru the oven’s self-cleaning cycle strips off all the old oil. Then 6 rotations thru a 500° over for an hour (this pic is after the first bake session) with a fresh layer of algae oil (highly monounsaturated oil) each time creates a polymerization of the oil to make the pan truly non-stick and without all the harmful chemicals of other non-stick pans.

This makes getting ready for a day of black diamond skiing thru aspen glades so much more effective. You aren’t just what you eat you’re performance in anything is also controlled by your food. I’ve been a performance coach for 29 years now and spent a lot of that time helping people choose the right combination of foods to get the most out of the training plans I gave them. What they did in training and racing was fueling. What they and I do outside their activity is nutrition. I can’t imagine being able to do the things I do with ‘normal’ food. I’m at altitude right now so getting better oxygen utilization from our nitrous oxide booster beet blend NOx is so simple (this so much easier than boiling beets down like we had to do years ago). Nitro amplifies every workout and the IsaLean Pro is the most complete (and simplest and cost effective) breakfast I’ve been able to ever find. Ionix, well that is a beast that delivers on so many levels. Simplicity and effectiveness. Two great hallmarks of performance.

Automation, artificial intelligence, companies finding ways to do more with less people, or companies preparing for the economic downturn by reducing their workforce are (going to be) concerns for many. Even if you love what you do, and I know many people that do, this is a bad reality. Then there are the people I meet that are really passionate about areas of their life other than their job. Love to help all these people see a different opportunity. All are reasons to look at ways to create a side income. I’ve been helping people do that, and not be all weird about it, for over a decade now. I love Endurance coaching and helping people reach their race goals but I get to make it a passion, not a job. If insulating yourself from economic issues is a thought you’ve been having then let’s message or talk. I’m quite straightforward about what it is and what’s involved (it’s not hard to figure out by looking thru my timeline). It may not be for you and if it isn’t I don’t want you in my team. But it is for an increasing number of people.

Why can’t you bend a penny? Because change is hard 😀 Seriously, it’s a new year. Make it your best one yet. Focus on what it is you want more of in your life instead of the work you need to do to get there. You still need to do the work to create a different life, but focus on the result you want. I don’t particularly like eating healthy all the time, doing the occasional fasting day(s), going to the gym etc but I LOVE the result I get. i do enough to get the results I want but still really enjoy life. Focus on the benefit and getting what you want and then all of a sudden the ‘work’ involved is something you ‘get’ to do, rather than something you ‘have’ to do. Make it a super year. Healthy and Lean in 2019 !!

If y'all are bored tonight at 7:30pm Central Time (5:30 pacific/8:30 eastern) I'll be holding a 30 minute webinar. I'll be talking about a healthy low carb/high (healthy) fat program I've been using for years. For the longest time I've been helping endurance athletes get amazing results in body composition changes and fat utilization. Most recently though I coached over 2000 people thru a nutritionally supported keto program. The results were phenomenal for helping people break thru long time plateaus and get to a level of health that has avoided them for some time. Excited to share the process and results with you. Go to... www.precisionfuelandnutrition.com for the webinar link

Now that Santa has done his Christmas duties he dropped by my office to say thanks for all the health benefits I’ve been able to help him achieve over the last year or so. He’s down almost 60 pounds and feeling a whole lot better. We also talked about our upcoming Pro Edge Challenge he’s looking forward to starting on January 14. He was part of rounds 1 and 2 with over 2200 others that I coached and is looking forward to round 3. Will post our video interview soon. www.bentleyhealthstrategies.com

Super proud of Michelle for how consistently she’s been following the training and nutrition plan I laid out for her. She’s on perfect pace for her Half IM and IM races for 2019. I’ve been coaching endurance athletes for 28 years so have a few things figured out. Her training is coming together so nicely. Last weekend she did her long run (over 13miles) at 8:46/mi at a 154 heart rate. Today she rolled thru at 8:11/mi at a 152 heart rate on a hillier route. That’s close to her IM race pace so she should have that dialed in by June. Join me on December 27 as I discuss some of the simple systems that helped her get there. www.bentleyhealthstrategies.com nutrition

I love helping people get results. I recently helped over 2200 people thru a healthy plateau busting macro focused program. We had them focus on nutritional support and high quality specific macros. The results were amazing. Within a week over 80% were dropping pounds. Love Jodi’s results dropping over 23 pounds and 29 inches (5 of those from her waist) in just 8 weeks. What a way to head into the holidays. From Jodi... ””Thanks Coach! Overall in my mid section (ribs to abs) I took off 12 inches in those 8 weeks. My waist specifically was 5 inches! This challenge gave me back my confidence - makes me proud to be a fitness leader and ironman athlete again (my weight gain made me feel like a fraud as “health and fitness provider”). As an athlete I feel stronger and I am way better in tune with what fuels my body. More than ever I am loving how everyday my workouts are getting stronger and my mind as well!”” If you’d like to check out how we’re helping people head over to www.bentleyhealthstrategies.com and register for a 30minute webinar I’m holding the evening of December 27. I’ll see you there !!

Ever notice that? People that are confident in themselves and successful in life are encouragers and cheerleaders to other people’s success. Those that are insecure and unsuccessful are usually pretty quick to criticize and belittle others.

For the last 30 years I’ve been helping people improve their athletic performance, their health, weight, and energy. It really is a process or moving from what’s comfortable to what isn’t (yet). It doesn’t have to be hard but it sure helps if you’re intentional about what you do, how you do it and when you do it. Looking forward to 2019 and all the new friends I get to meet helping them make positive changes.

I just love everything about this picture. So much beauty. @michellebentley22 took this photo in Colorado and it has the most amazing colors and energy. Speaking of love.... Did you know we were made with built in limitations and brokenness. Yep, we’re actually not supposed to be perfect. Trying just rejects the opportunity to be loved. Think about it. When we love someone or are loved by someone we are meeting their needs, or are having our needs met. If we were perfect there would be no need to be loved. We could be admired, but not loved. When we pretend to be perfect and not needing of help we also push people away and deny them the opportunity to help, to love, us. Who do you know that can benefit from your love and support? Who do you know that can help you with yours? Galatians 6:2 Bare one another’s burdens.

Who else is taking advantage of 63 hours worth of fasting and the associated 1000% plus increase in growth hormone to do some serious work in the gym (or your exercise of choice). ps - yes I go out in public wearing this color combination

I’ve been coaching 1783 people thru a nutritionally supported ketogenic program over the past few weeks. I was always skeptical about ‘doing Keto’ but when we laid out a way to do it with great nutrition I got on board. Loving seeing everyone’s results and testimonials. I’ve compiled a very small portion of them on a page at https://bentleycoaching.com/healthy-keto I particularly enjoy seeing the comments on how this is -impacting people’s energy during training as they become more fat adapted, and -how they are comparing this nutritionally supported Keto program with when they’ve done Keto in the past (hint- this is much easier and more effective). Better energy, results, health and ease of compliance. I’m amazed at the amount of sugars and carbs in foods and how much I’ve been able to help people stay on track with the program thru keeping them focused and dialed in to the main thing. Love helping people -break through fat loss plateaus, -sleep better, -have more consistent energy, -adapt to fat burning for better performance and -kick that addictive sugar habit. If you’re looking to figure out Keto and do it in a nutritionally supported (healthy) way and do it with a group of others this is a great thing to check out. If your curious about what it all entails let me know. Not sure if it’s for you or not but happy to have a conversation about it and/or send you some more info. https://youtu.be/9PwVK32uWPg

I’ve spent decades helping people reach their goals. I ‘get’ to help people push thru resistance and move towards their goals. We aren’t usually lacking a desire for more in our lives; we (almost) all want to feel better, be healthier and have more. It’s not an intellectual issue either. The information is out there if we go look for it. The issue is more emotional than intellectual. People are so massively adverse to failure. They either never get started or they play so small and ‘try’ so little that they really don’t ever do enough to get anywhere. That reconfirms what they already believe ‘see, that didn’t work, I knew I wasn’t meant to be successful at .....’. Every successful person has stories of failure they had to endure to reach their success. Most people avoid situations or ‘opportunities’ that could cause them to fail but those are the only ways that we are going to succeed. When I was racing I was prepared to go so hard that I could blow up and not finish a race. That, however, is how I reached success. Talking to people used to be really hard for me. I grew my coaching business by going to an Ironman race and talking to every one of the 1000-1500 people standing in line to register for the next years race. Scary but very effective. Set your goals and push yourself to get to them, NOT for the goal itself but for who you need to become in order to make that goal possible. It’s YOU that changes that makes it easier to be successful. I was SCARED TO DEATH to do this hike (Angels Landing) in Zion National Park with Michelle. Like me she’s not a big fan of heights but we knew we wanted to see the view from the top more than we wanted to succumb to the fear of it. What’s holding you back from the life you want. There’s nothing outside of you that’s keeping you from your goals. All the resistance is really coming from within you. Just keep focusing on what you really want, cause no matter how successful you are now there’s something in your heart that’s there either for yourself and or hopefully others that you really need to go after. Don’t not try. That’s the worst thing you can ever ever do.
