Tú justificas mi existencia: si no te conozco, no he vivido; si muero sin conocerte, no muero, porque no he vivido. You justify my existence: if I do not meet you, I haven't lived; if I die without meeting you, I don't die, because I haven't lived. . Si el hombre pudiera decir lo que ama/If a man could say what he loves (Luis Cernuda)
I will teach my daughter not to wear her skin like a drunken apology. I will tell her ‘make a home out of your body, live in yourself, do not let people turn you into a regret, do not justify yourself. If you are a disaster it is not forever, if you are a disaster you are the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen. Do not deconstruct from the inside out, you belong here, you belong here, not because you are lovely, but because you are more than that. . Azra T.
If you are struggling tonight, please be kind to the body that holds you and be mindful of the heart within you. I know of that kind of suffering, the kind that gets stuck in your throat, that cannot make anything but guttural pleas, the kind of nothing that consumes you, and convinces you that help is beyond what you need. It’s not easy to hold so many feelings, maybe that is why you drown them out sometimes, maybe that is why you crave oceans so much so that you can blend in with its whirlpools, drown into nothing but wave after wave after wave of emotion. And I know you want to do all sorts of horrible things, because even they will clean you of the dirty you feel under your skin. But please don’t. Please remember that you are still here, that you can still feel, that this is a bottomless pit and you can keep falling, but I hope that is the last thing you do. If you are struggling tonight, know that there is love for you, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Know that there is reason for you to exist, that this world depends on it. Know that there is too much wrong on this planet but you being here is one thing it has right. I can’t tell you what to do about the hurt, I can’t say when it will stop, but I promise that you are strong enough to see it through, and this suffering does not have to destroy you. . If you are struggling tonight, please. (Amanda Ngo)
Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life… You give them a piece of you. They don't ask for it. They do something dumb one day like kiss you, or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so a simple phrase like "maybe we should just be friends" or "how very perceptive" turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. Nothing should be able to do that. Especially not love. I hate love. . The Kindly Ones (Neil Gaiman)
Is any of it real? I mean, look at this. Look at it! A world built on fantasy. Synthetic emotions in the form of pills. Psychological warfare in the form of advertising. Mind-altering chemicals in the form of... food! Brainwashing seminars in the form of media. Controlled isolated bubbles in the form of social networks. Real? You want to talk about reality? We haven't lived in anything remotely close to it since the turn of the century. We turned it off, took out the batteries, snacked on a bag of GMOs while we tossed the remnants in the ever-expanding Dumpster of the human condition. We live in branded houses trademarked by corporations built on bipolar numbers jumping up and down on digital displays, hypnotizing us into the biggest slumber mankind has ever seen. You have to dig pretty deep, kiddo, before you can find anything real. We live in a kingdom of bullshit. A kingdom you've lived in for far too long. So don't tell me about not being real. I'm no less real than the fucking beef patty in your Big Mac. . Mr. Robot (Sam Esmail)
Killing time isn't as difficult as it sounds. I can shoot a hundred numbers through the chest and watch them bleed decimal points in the palm of my hand. I can rip the numbers off a clock and watch the hour hand tick tick tick its final tock just before I fall asleep. I can suffocate seconds just by holding my breath. I've been murdering minutes for hours and no one seems to mind. . Shatter Me (Tahereh Mafi)
